BIOGRAPHY


Edward James Norton was born August 18th 1969 in Boston but raised in Maryland with his younger brother James, his younger sister Molly, his father Edward Norton sr and his mother Robin. His father is a business man and his mother who died in 1997 of cancer was a high school teacher.
He attended yale and graduated in 1991, after graduation he worked in some minor stage shows and worked as a waiter while attending acting classes.
His big screen debut came in 1996 when Richard Gere was looking for the perfect young actor to play the choir boy who is accussed of murdering his Bishop. This perfonmance in that movie was so good that he was nominated for the first of his oscars but sadly lost out to Cuba Gooding Jr who won fro his role along side Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. And since then Norton's career has gon from strenth to strenth and he made his directorial debut with the fantastic Keeping The Faith in 2000.

TRIVIA

* It was Edward Nortons Grandad, Jim Rouse who came up with the idea for shopping malls.

* He was turned down for the role of Andy Kaufman in Man on the Moon but does a little Andy/latka impersonation while on the phone in keeping the faith.

* He also immitates Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man in Keeping the Faith.

* That really is him singing in Everyone Say's I Love You.

* I'm not too sure about how true this is but I read somewhere that his voice was used on an episode of the Simpsons in 1989!

* Edward Norton became romanticaly involved with Courtney Love when fiming The People VS. Larry Flynt.

* Courtney Love was up for the part of Marla Singer in Fight Club but Norton said that she was "too busy" to do it.
